Dalaguete Triple Thrills : OsmeƱa Peak, Eagles Cave and Obong Spring

Image
Dalaguete is located 84 kilometers in the southern part of Cebu Philippines.  At first, I never thought that this southern town of Cebu offers a lot of tourist spots.  I just found out when we arrived there one Sunday morning.  At the entrance of their public market of their rotunda road, you can see a very large tarpaulin highlighting their natural tourist spots that includes the popular OsmeƱa Peak.  I thought that it is only the favorite OsmeƱa Peak this southern town can offer.  But their array of tourist places are quite numerous.  I scanned on the tarpaulin with more or less 10 natural spots destinations.  This includes Bandera Peak and Mercado's Peak that I have never heard of before. OsmeƱa Peak is popular since it is the highest point in Cebu.  It stands 1,013 metters above sea level and it is located at Mantalungon Dalaguete Cebu.  I can say that the town of Dalaguete is very organized since they maintained a log book when you...

Chasing Waterfalls : Tumalog Falls of Oslob

Image
Hello! As a continuation of my chasing waterfalls series, I will now showcase this time the epic Tumalog waterfalls of Oslob Cebu. Usually travelers here in Oslob will not miss to visit Tumalog falls after their whale shark watching.  Since Oslob Cebu is not that far where I am currently located, I have the special advantage of visiting it during my rest day.  I highly recommended this spot to everyone who would like to visit Oslob.  You will surely love it specially if you love nature and just hang there for a while and admire one of the wonderful creations of a cascading waterfall with rock formations. Tumalog Falls will not disappoint every adventure seekers specially if you love to trek and hike the not more than 500 meters cemented road.  Just tell the bus driver that you have to alight at Tumalog in Oslob and right there hire a motorcycle to get you to the entrance.  When I was there, the motor cycle for hire charged me P100 pesos back and forth....

Chasing Waterfalls : Mantayupan Falls (with added perks) at Barili Cebu

Image
Once again I am going to blog about waterfalls here in the south of Cebu.  This time, it is the tallest of all Cebu waterfalls.  It is the Mantayupan Falls of Barili.   How to go there from Cebu City? Take a Ceres bus at Cebu South Bus Terminal.  The travel distance is 58 kilometers and travel time is 1 hour and 48 minutes.  The fare is more or less 100 pesos. You just have to say to the bus conductor that your destination is at Shamrock at Barili.  Upon reaching this spot, you can see a lot of "habal habal" motorcycles where you can pay 20 or 30 pesos for fare in going to the falls.  It is much better if you have a private vehicle since vehicles can access the road leading there.  Once you get there at the entrance gate, you will be asked for a 30 pesos entrance fee. I visited this waterfalls out of curiousity since it is known to be the highest waterfalls of Cebu.  When I got there at the entrance I can already hear the water ...

Chasing Waterfalls : Dauh Falls at Samboan Cebu

Image
Hello there!  It's been a long time since I was not able to put another blog about Cebu places here. I almost forgot that I have my blog posts here in Blogger for almost 2 years.  So, to continue the fire burning I want to blog here on the waterfalls here in Cebu.  Just a while ago I came to know that Cebu has a lot of water falls aside from the famous Kawasan falls.  You can search that in the internet which you can find plenty of information about the waterfalls in Cebu particularly at the south area. I am now currently working home based and I thirst to explore or go out of my cave at the house in my neighboring towns to ease my boredom of just staying at home.  The other day which is my rest day, I went to the municipality of Samboan Cebu to visit Fantasy Beach.  I enjoyed visiting the place and I can really say that Fantasy Beach is worthy to visit. I will blog it also later here.  After the visit, I don't know where else to go and I...

Fitness First Cebu : Say No Goodbye But Hello

Image
I have been a club member of Fitness First Cebu from the middle year of 2012 until the month of August 2014.  After a couple of months since I ended my membership with the club, I came to know that the gym will close in January 2015 which is really true since I can see from the avid members of the club their posts and statuses in Facebook.  Previous to this which was during my active membership, I already heard some speculations that the gym club will close but I just put it aside since I can see that there were members, instructors and staffs that were still very solid to Fitness First Cebu.  It never then again occurred to my mind until the bomb news was there out in the open. As of this writing, it is already in the final week of the month of January and members, instructors and staff will be saying their final goodbyes.  Some maybe smiling to just hide a teary eye but this doesn't mean the end of their fitness journey.  I've heard that Gold's Gym will rep...

White Sands @ Basdako Beach

Basdako means Big Sand.  This is located in the southern part of Cebu at Moalboal where many foreigners will not only admire the white sand beach but the opportunity of diving in the sea and witness sea creatures of different types.  There are varieties of cottages to choose from if you want an overnight stay and enjoy more the beach.  A once in a lifetime opportunity to taste the sea, sand, sun and solemn view which is perfect for winding up specially in weekends. Here are some of the pictures that I am so privileged to have during the weekend outing of the night shift team of the department where I am currently working with: Reminiscing the Perfect View Team Travelers 3rd shift
