Dalaguete Triple Thrills : Osmeña Peak, Eagles Cave and Obong Spring

Dalaguete is located 84 kilometers in the southern part of Cebu Philippines.  At first, I never thought that this southern town of Cebu offers a lot of tourist spots.  I just found out when we arrived there one Sunday morning.  At the entrance of their public market of their rotunda road, you can see a very large tarpaulin highlighting their natural tourist spots that includes the popular Osmeña Peak.  I thought that it is only the favorite Osmeña Peak this southern town can offer.  But their array of tourist places are quite numerous.  I scanned on the tarpaulin with more or less 10 natural spots destinations.  This includes Bandera Peak and Mercado's Peak that I have never heard of before.

Osmeña Peak is popular since it is the highest point in Cebu.  It stands 1,013 metters above sea level and it is located at Mantalungon Dalaguete Cebu.  I can say that the town of Dalaguete is very organized since they maintained a log book when you will hire one of their motor cycles.  Drivers are uniformed with yellow colored jackets with numbers assigned.  The driver that we hired there was also very accommodating and also to the guide named Danielo Zamora who allowed and helped us to experience a one of a kind and thrilling adventure with Eagle's Cave.

Osmeña Peak is our first destination in Dalaguete.  While approaching the public market of Mantalungon, we already felt the chilly air. On our way, I really highly appreciate the scenic view and much more when we're already there at Osmeña's peak.  At the entrance of Osmeña's Peak we paid a total of 50 pesos.  The fee for me is 30 pesos while my neice is 20 pesos as her privileged as a student.

The scene is very dramatic with lots of protruding mounds of small mountains.  It looks like the Chocolate Hills of Bohol but this one is different.

Going up is not quite that hard.  You just have to step on the rocks and climbed your way up.  We wander through the fields of greens and climbed our way up and down to a couple of mountain peaks there.  The view is really amazing.  It is pure nature.  Fresh air is very abundant.  All I can see are the beauty and magic of nature.  I wonder why people still go to some other far away places to relax and unwind when we have our very own here in Cebu.   You can trek and hike all you want or you can even stay overnight with the right camping gears.  This place sat quite a long time in my bucket list and now it is fulfilled.

Our next stop is the Eagle's Cave.  This cave is not yet very familiar or famous.  I guess because the way going and out there is not that easy.  You just have to try it and you will find out.  The locals there only recommend Danilo Zamora as a guide to the cave since he is used to the cave since his teenage years and he said he can tame snakes.  You will hear him on his tales on snakes, caves, engkanto etc.  Note:  Be careful of the stalactites and holes.  You have to initially crawl here and be careful with your head.

This looks like a claw of an eagle.

Eagle's cave has a sea level hole. So be very careful.

Our third and last stop is Obong Spring where fresh water spring meets the seawater.  It is a one of a kind nature pool improvised under a Dalakit tree.  It is like a beach and at the same time a spring.  It is a pool mixture of sea and fresh water.  They said that the spring gushes from the Dalakit tree.
